The President Calls Families of Injured National Guard Soldiers to White House

President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the family of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Tragic Event

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Memorials across West Virginia have been held in their honor.

White House Call

The president said he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump addressed journalists. “And similarly with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Reaction

Attendees assembled over the weekend at a local school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both they had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s government program to aid policing efforts in DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators hoped for. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” Hankins, the leader of her alma mater, informed the Associated Press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always willing to assist people.”

Service arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Judicial Actions and Government Changes

Officials have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The incident prompted the Trump administration to suspend refugee claims and halt issuing entry permits to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of the Airman

The airman, a resident of the city, started his military career in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey said on television.

Attorney general the attorney general told Fox News Sunday that she also intended to visit Wolfe’s family.

Impact of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a military police officer with distinction, according to the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” he told the audience at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
