Ex- Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities report that a former physician now faces charges for performing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Charges
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
