Raducanu reached the third round in three out of four major tournaments in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her remaining competitions this season due to a medical condition that has affected her in recent days.

At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to regain her health before starting her preparations for 2026.

Those preparations are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match versus Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

Her movement was with clear difficulty in the deciding set in the match with Zhu due to back discomfort that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 for the first time in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

She secured 28 matches during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

She mentioned that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
